GPA’s Expeditionary Craft (E-Craft), measuring 59 meters in length and capable of carrying 20 vehicles, is currently under construction at Alaska Ship & Drydock for the Office of Naval Research. The design of the E-Craft incorporates lift technology that will allow the ferry to change from the Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull (SWATH) mode to barge mode by lowering or raising its center deck.

The expected delivery date for the ABS-certified E-Craft is October 2008.

M/V Stikine

GPA developed the design package and provided Owner’s representation and inspection services throughout the construction process for Alaska Inter-Island Ferry Authority’s (IFA) 60-meter passenger and vehicle ferry, the M/V Stikine.

Following the IFA’s first vessel, the M/V Prince of Wales, for which GPA provided the Detailed/Production Design, the vessel was constructed in 2005 at Dakota Creek Industries in Anacortes, WA.

The M/V Stikine has a passenger capacity of 160 and a car capacity of 30 and is currently on its primary service route between Coffman Cove, Wrangell, and Petersburg, Alaska. The passenger deck includes a full service galley, restaurant, lounge, restrooms, forward observation lounge with reclining chairs, reading room, quiet room, children's playroom, and solarium.

The crew spaces include a day room, restroom and lockers for the 12-hour shifts but no overnight accommodations. The Stikine was delivered in March 2006.
